Johanna Love is an artist, academic and researcher living in London, UK. She currently holds two academic positions; senior lecturer in fine art printmaking at the University of Brighton, and MA printmaking course leader at Camberwell College of Arts. In 2013, she attained a PhD in fine art at Chelsea College of Arts, with a thesis entitled Dust: New contemporary modes of viewing the printed photographic image. Within her research and practice Love is interested in images that operate at the limits of human perception and often invoke ideas of the technological sublime. Through a combination of print, drawing and photographic languages she creates visually complex images that offer an arena within which we can contemplate themes of time, memory and mortality. Love exhibits nationally and internationally and continues to contribute to key debates through exhibitions, international conferences and symposiums across fine art contexts of printmaking, drawing and photography.
